The 16th Edition of the Gala at the Opera de Montreal was a splendid event, not to be missed. I was invited by Ms Helen Fotopoulos, Membre Comité Executif Ville de Mtl, CDN Conseillere municipale , Responsable - Culture, Patrimoine, Design, Condition feminine.
Many established artists performed various famous opera segments , but a young cellist attracted the attention of the audience with his sensational talent. At the age of 18 Stéphane Tétreault is up and coming, the new talent in the world music scene.
Antonio Figueroa took our heart high with his performance , he was so expressive, an incredibly evolving tenor.
Marc Hervieux really touched the audience singing the Esmeralda (Notre Dame)! What an interpretation of a role, totally divine!
The pianist Serhiy Salov from Ukrania with his magic fingers spread the sounds at the new MAISON SYMPHONIQUE DE MONTRÉAL, Place des Arts granting the peace of the real music!
Marie-Josée Lord, Lyne Fortin, Lauren Segal, Sonia Racine, Antonio Figueroa, Marc Hervieux, Gregory Dahl, Phillip Addis, Alexandre Sylvestre, Alain Coulombe, Stéphane Tétreault (cellist) and Serhiy Salov (pianist) were the 10 performers of the Gala at Opera de Montreal.
I shouldn’t close this piece without mentioning that the honoree of the evening was the French Baritone Bruno Laplante who is added to the Canadian Opera Hall of Fame!
A chic reception followed the concert at St Sulpice Hotel, located in the heart of Old Montreal!
Justine Frangouli-Argyris
